Eligibility requirements

• Submit an Expression of Interest and receive an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs (invitation-only - you cannot lodge without one).
• Demonstrate an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement and continuing prominence in your field.
• Have a nominator with a national reputation in the same field - an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible NZ citizen, or an Australian organisation.
• Show your skills will provide substantial benefit to Australia, with priority given to Tier 1 sectors (critical technologies such as AI, health industries, and renewables/low-emission technologies).
• No strict age limit, but applicants under 18 or over 55 must show exceptional benefit to Australia; meet health and character requirements.
