Who this route is for

Spouses/registered partners and minor (under-18) children of someone legally resident in Germany or of a German citizen.

Sponsor holds an eligible German residence/settlement permit, Blue Card, or German citizenship; both spouses at least 18 with a valid marriage certificate
Spouse normally shows A1 German — waived for spouses of EU Blue Card / skilled-worker / highly-qualified / ICT / researcher / refugee sponsors and for nationals of select countries (US, Canada, Japan, Australia, Israel, NZ, UK, South Korea)
Secured livelihood: roughly EUR 1,200/month for a couple, plus about EUR 300 per additional dependent
Adequate housing (housing requirement waived for Blue Card / ICT / Sec 18b sponsors)
Health insurance for all joining family members
