Eligibility requirements
- Active monthly income of at least 4x the Portuguese minimum wage — EUR 3,680/month in 2026 (minimum wage rose to EUR 920)
- Add 50% for a spouse and 30% per dependent child
- Savings of at least EUR 11,040 (12x the minimum monthly wage) in a bank account
- Remote employment contract or freelance/business income from non-Portuguese sources
- Proof of accommodation in Portugal, valid health insurance and a clean criminal record
